Cobham Rugby

Under 21s thrash Guildfordians in Surrey Cup

11 tries for the visitors in comprehensive victory

Huge congratulations to Cobham Under 21s who kicked off their season with a big win on the road against Guildfordians (30 December 2018).

With the majority of the squad already experiencing senior rugby this season for the 1st and 2nd xv, the team were determined to put in a good performance to give themselves a chance of making the knockout stages of the Surrey Cup.

The side was led by senior coach George Pickersgill and captained for the first time by backrow forward Ollie Fielding, with Ollie Kitto as vice captain.

Playing up the slope in the first half, Cobham scored four tries to Guildfordians one. After the break, Cobham used the slope to their advantage and scored a further seven times. Centre Jordan Bond converted eight of the 11 tries, while everyone in the squad enjoyed valuable game time.

Final score Guildfordians 7 Cobham 71

This result should see the squad through to the cup semi final in March /April 2019. Well done to all the players and management, and thank you to everyone who attended to lend their support.
