Things are looking very different down at the memorial ground as works have commenced on a significant project to enhance the facilities within the clubhouse.
Due for completion in mid October 2017 these exciting plans see the launch of a brand new downstairs lounge and bar designed to provide our members and the local community with the perfect venue in which to socialise all year round.
Changes include:
Glazed extension to the downstairs bar area
New extended terrace above
New reception area
Remodelled mens washrooms.
Completely new bar and lounge area
New coffee facilities
Comfortable lounge seating and bar stools surround a feature bar area designed to bring the heart of Cobham Rugby back into the club .
Discussions started back in 2015 around how the downstairs facilities could be improved which resulted in a committee being formed to establish what our members felt about the potential for a new bar and lounge. The results of a members survey lead to the CSA obtaining planning consent for an extension to the downstairs bar and the terrace above. Plans were drawn up and leading bar designer Grapes Design were brought in to bring the scheme to life. Finally in July 2017 the CSA engaged with local contractors and club sponsors Ditton Construction to commence works which are due for completion shortly after the start of the 2017 season in mid October.
